Próximos is a music and experimentation festival I organize as part of LaPlatanera collective, I am on charge of the web site http://proximos.org and of the technology oriented workshops.
For this seventh edition of the festival we are pleased to announce that one of the great name of the Post Rock and Jazz scene, Tortoise is going to be our guest and entertainer for the night of the 9th of June.
Yay! I finally decided to update to Drupal7 and change the whole site layout. So far Drupal7 seems to take a huge step forward on end user friendliness, it's got a nice dashboard, slicker layout, semi-automatic modules updates and a faster engine.
I hope to get the new theme right without too much pain, feedback welcome as usual.
A web-cam with a push button hooked to a modified USB mouse, and a laptop, all fitted in a metal cannister placed for over a month inside Espacio Cultural El Tanque in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, for the festival Keroxen11.
The public was free to take pictures which were projected in the wall , just behind the sofa.
The sofa itself was made of empty plastic cannister fitted with light bulbs.
3660 pictures taken during 13 nights by some of the 9500 persons who attended the festival.
Finally Blender took the big step and introduced a new ray tracing rendering engine in trunk (will be stock with 2.60), now available on graphicall. The render can be done as a CPU task or with a GPU that on most cases will perform better, I see an over 100% faster rendering with my gtx560m than with the i7 2720 CPU, unfortunately OpenCL is not finished yet so I won' t be able to unleash the power of my desktop GPU, ATI 6950 for the moment.
